Terms of Service
These terms govern your use of GuardX. By creating an account or adding a domain you agree to them.
1. Who we are and what the service is
GuardX is a reverse-proxy service that sits in front of your website to filter application-layer (layer 7) DDoS traffic, bots and web attacks, to run a web application firewall, and to manage TLS certificates. “GuardX”, “we” and “us” mean the publisher identified in the Legal Notice. “You” means the person or company that opens an account.
2. Professional use only
The service is sold to businesses and professionals. By signing up you confirm that you act for professional purposes and that you have the authority to bind the company you represent. The consumer rules on distance selling, including the right of withdrawal, therefore do not apply.
3. Your account
- You must give accurate information and keep your credentials secret. We strongly recommend enabling two-factor authentication.
- You are responsible for everything done through your account.
- Tell us immediately at support@guardx.fr if you suspect unauthorised access.
4. Your domains
You may only add domains you own or are authorised to protect. You confirm that you are entitled to route the traffic of those domains through GuardX and to let us process it on your behalf. The number of domains depends on your plan. We may refuse or remove a domain that breaks these terms or the Acceptable Use Policy.
5. How traffic is handled
Once your DNS points to GuardX, visitors connect to us first. We decrypt, inspect and forward legitimate requests to your origin server, and we may challenge, rate-limit or block requests we consider hostile. Detection is probabilistic: a legitimate visitor can occasionally be challenged or blocked, and some attacks can pass. You can tune the firewall, add exceptions and roll back changes from the dashboard.
6. Plans, prices and payment
Plans, domain limits and prices are shown on the pricing section and in the dashboard. Subscriptions are billed monthly in US dollars through Stripe. Billing and cancellation are described in Billing & Cancellation. We may change prices for future periods with at least 30 days’ notice by email or in the dashboard.
7. Availability
We work to keep the service running but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation, and we do not promise that every attack will be stopped. Because GuardX sits in your traffic path, you remain responsible for your own origin server, backups and application security. No service-level credit is owed unless a written agreement says so.
8. Acceptable use
You must follow the Acceptable Use Policy. We may suspend a domain or an account, immediately and without prior notice, where needed to stop abuse, comply with the law or protect the platform and its other customers.
9. Data protection
For our own account and billing data we act as controller, as set out in the Privacy Policy. For your visitors’ data that passes through the proxy we act as your processor under the Data Processing Agreement, which forms part of these terms.
10. Intellectual property
We keep all rights in the service and its software. You get a non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service while your subscription is active. You keep all rights in your own content and traffic.
11. Liability
Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law. Subject to that, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, revenue, data or goodwill, and our total liability for any claim arising from the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the event that caused the claim.
12. Suspension and termination
You can stop using the service at any time (see Billing & Cancellation). We may terminate or suspend your account for breach of these terms, non-payment, or where the law requires it. When an account ends, your domains stop being proxied; point your DNS back to your origin first to avoid downtime. We delete account data as described in the Privacy Policy.
13. Changes
We may update these terms. Material changes will be announced by email or in the dashboard at least 30 days before they apply. Continuing to use the service after that date means you accept the new version.
14. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by French law. The courts of the city where our registered office is located have exclusive jurisdiction, unless mandatory law provides otherwise. Before going to court, please write to contact@guardx.fr so we can try to settle the matter.
